night and nothing to do. So do a tour on a site that, oddly, is widely publicized on TV, Italian Nuclear Forum (www.forumnucleare.it). And just as "strange" is suggested by Google when you search for something with the word "nuclear." In a nutshell
advertising (with an elegant game of chess) and the first page of the website promises a place of exchange and dialogue on the nuclear issue, and it is expected that this is the pros and cons with topics such as alternative sources, energy independence, security, waste etc. In particular, (mind you) the site is for those who have not yet adopted an opinion (fed to the people of the Italic undecided in short). And at first glance appears to the forum keeping promises, presenting and comparing authoritative reviews pros and cons.
Then if we look at the space devoted to readers (under the name of "your") a number of issues seem to support the pro-nuclear position, but maybe it is I who am biased, I say ....
then I try to understand what exactly this "forum", with a web page designed so well and with so many funds available to be able to afford to pay for advertising space on the main TV channels in prime time. There is a dedicated page. For convenience I quote only the first few lines:
The Italian Nuclear Forum is an association nonprofit that wants to contribute, as an actor, the resumption of the public debate on nuclear power development in Italy.
Non-Profit.
My grandmother always told me "nisuni ago noffink noffink par.
Come then to read things "small print" and open the pdf with the statute. The picture that emerges is a bit 'different.
Meanwhile we find out who has set up the cabin: it's ENEL and EDF, Electricite de France (plus that controls Edison). EDF also learn from the site of ENEL and EDF have formed a company with the task of carrying out feasibility studies and design of four nuclear power plants. And that this company is the result of agreements between Italy and France in 2009, the award-winning company that Berlusconi-Sarkozy. Not exactly the disinterested specialists nonprofit.
Then we learn the true intentions of the founders, not only (and not so much) to promote an honest debate, but ...
promote information and debate on nuclear energy, through the promotion of meetings, conferences and seminars organized by the Association in order to increase the use of consensus 'Nuclear energy and create awareness of the benefits. [...] support the nuclear as a possible solution energy equation.
Finally here how they plan to achieve these objectives honest informative. Through a "Scientific Committee" of course not independent but must provide all necessary support to this work of conviction:
The Scientific Committee is appointed by the Board of Directors, which also appoints the chairman. [...] The Scientific Committee will advise and make proposals and is coordinated by the President, that regulates the activities and agenda. It work as specified by the Board of Directors , which provides regular information , opinions and recommendations on issues of scientific importance and interest in the activities of the Association.
short, under the guise of open debate, discussion boards, information spaces are aprofitta to spread opinions and scientific studies, for goodness sake, surely accurate and truthful, but are an attempt to shape public opinion with improper use of words such as "forum" and "Non-Profit." Two giants of energy production and interested to invest in nuclear power that are hidden behind the twig of an association to make their interests, aware that, nowadays, the biggest obstacle to nuclear power in Italy is (thankfully) by a public heavily against it. And that's aprofittano mezzucci to try to prepare the ground.
And since I'm not democratic suggest to those who, like me, are against nuclear power and does not lend itself to boycott these games and to boycott the site. To those who do not think like me and the undecided suggest the vision of a beautiful service reports about it. They do not receive from multinational financiers, as I understand it.
