Yesterday I donated a new book. The novel Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery a bestseller which was made into a movie now in theaters. Moreover since I discovered (thanks again and thanks to the Vanni) Daniel Pennac'm re-evaluating widely as custodians of the French (for me) unexpected irony.
We come to the point: is not an easy book. Among other things, talking about philosophy (which I have already forgiven Kundera and his lightness of being, and not talked about more), art (but not forgive him to prefer the Flemish still life painting of the Italian ' 400), of cinema. Wanting fleas him after a first reading, I would have given the young Paloma a simpler language, more suitable to his age and that he emphasized more the setting for two voices. But the book is beautiful, it made me smile and move and I'm getting ready to go well for a second reading in detail.
But this book also deserves a mention (and already has a title on ...). I found a wonderful definition of Grammar that will resell as soon as possible to my students / mice.

I believe that grammar is a gateway to beauty. When talk, when we read or write when we realize if we're writing or reading a beautiful sentence. We are capable of riconoscereuna beautiful expression or an elegant style. But when you grammar, you enter another dimension of beauty of language. Making grammar is used to dissect, to watch how it's done, to see her naked, in a sense. And it's a wonderful thing, because we think: "Look at 'that stuff, looks a bit' as it is done well", "How strong, clever, sharp!"
